Since opening my own pharmacy in 2011, I have gained a wealth of experience in a broad range of areas including business development, HR, management, stock control, accounting, law and many more. I had applied to open a 40 hour contract in 2010 and after representing myself against the NHS litigations authority, I successfully won my case to open Redwell Pharmacy in 2011. I managed a team of 14 hand selected employees, who I trained from the start. I am efficient and organised, as well as innovative with the ability to develop productive and stream lined systems. The closest surgery was 0.7 miles away from Redwell Pharmacy, yet I developed the business from a standing start to 8500 items per month within 3 years. The company was turning over almost £1 million annually when I was approached by a national pharmacy chain last year with an offer to purchase the pharmacy at a figure I could not refuse. Since selling the pharmacy earlier this year, I have found myself in a position where I can split my time between my property business, volunteer work and regular pharmacy work. After taking a break I am rearing to go, I feel the need to get stuck into a new project or a new role in order to utilise all of the skills that I have gained.
