Dr. Bhargava Gannavarapu is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist. After graduating from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/The Chicago Medical School, he went on to complete his residency in Internal Medicine from the University of California, Irvine. He followed by earning his Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. He then went on to complete a 4th year fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. Before starting his practice in San Jose, Dr. Gannavarapu was on staff at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, IL as an Interventional Gastroenterologist. Dr. Gannavarapu specializes in therapeutic interventional endoscopy, focusing on minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). His clinical focus is on the diagnosis and management of pancreaticobiliary diseases, including biliary obstruction, pancreatitis, and pancreatic cancer. Other areas of focus include endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) for early gastrointestinal malignancy, including large colon polyps; management of Barrett’s Esophagus, including radiofrequency ablation; staging and palliation of gastrointestinal malignancy; and bariatric endoscopy.
