I am a consultant liaison and neuropsychiatrist, with clinical interests in substance misuse, alcohol-related brain injury and clinical neuropsychiatry. My non-clinical interests are in service design, service delivery, leadership, management, quality improvement, mentoring and coaching. I was previously seconded to NHS Improvement as part of the National Medical Director's Clinical Fellow Scheme, where I worked on national strategy and programmes within the medical directorate, including the 7 day hospital services programme. I was also an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow at the University of Nottingham, working on the AQUEDUCT research programme to identify best practice for teams managing crises in dementia. Teaching is a real passion of mine and I have experience in teaching different groups, including medical students, nurses, peers as well as mixed medical audiences. I have also run workshops at national conferences and taught at regional events. I have held several FMLM Trainee Steering Group roles over the years, and continue to be a mentor on their mentoring platform. In addition, I am an accredited BMA trade union representative and am the Deputy LNC Chair at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, as well as previously holding the role of Deputy and Acting LNC Chair at another trust. I'm always looking to collaborate with like-minded individuals - so please don't hesitate to get in touch.
