I work as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon, with specialist interest in Cornea & Lens Implants at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, West Midlands. After graduating from medical school and completing my Diploma in Ophthalmology in Southern India, I relocated to the UK, and successfully completed the Higher Specialist Training Programme in the West Midlands. My training included work at St Paul's Eye Unit in Liverpool and Leicester Royal Infirmary. I developed a sub-specialty interest in corneal surgery and pursued this at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. I have performed over 400 corneal transplant procedures, more than 30,000 cataract surgeries and in excess of 6,000 Excimer laser refractive procedures. I am skilled in a range of procedures, including LASIK, LASEK, cross-linking treatments, premium lens implants, ICL procedures, and femtosecond laser cataract surgery. I am the 1st UK Ophthalmologist to have used the Carl Zeiss AT LARA Extended Depth of Focus Premium Lens Implant My work is regularly published, and my training programmes for junior doctors has earned me wide recognition. In addition to conducting research and clinical trials, I have set up an Eye Hospital in rural India, and perform sight-saving eye operations there on a voluntary basis. I have been invited by GMTV Dr Hilary Jones and Channel 4 Dr Christian Jessen to feature in their "Health Guide" as one of the top ophthalmologists in the West Midlands region.
