Dr Audrey Oppenheim works eight sessions as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at The Royal Liverpool Childrens Hospital within the Tier 3 Community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, balancing her NHS with her private work commitments. Dr Oppenheim holds private clinics in her Rooms in Hale, Cheshire and offers evening and weekend appointments. She was appointed as Consultant at the Royal Liverpool Childrens Hospital in 1992. In addition to working in community bases, she also has past experience of working in Paediatric Liaison within the hospital particularly linked to neurology and the management of chronic diseases e.g. cystic fibrosis. Dr Oppenheim was Lead for the management of self-harm, taking responsibility for the development of policies in A&E and CAMHS. She continues to teach on self-harm and related psychiatric illness e.g. depression and anxiety across a variety of hospital disciplines including junior doctors. She has been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 1988 and a Fellow since 2002. She is an Examiner for the Membership Exam and an Appraiser for consultant appointments in relation to The Royal College of Psychiatrists. She is an Examiner for the Diploma of Child Health with The Royal College of Paediatrics and is a member of the DCH Board. Dr Oppenheim is an accredited expert in the preparation of Medico-Legal reports.
