Mr Georgios Arealis is a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who practises at the Chaucer Hospital and Spencer Private Hospitals. He is also based at East Kent University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is a visiting professor of the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Social Care at Canterbury Christchurch University, as well as an honorary lecturer in bioengineering at the University of Kent. Additionally, he is an educational supervisor for Stage 3, Year 5 Kings College London medical students. His particular area of specialty is shoulder, elbow, and upper limb surgery. His main areas of expertise are the arthroscopic management of shoulder and elbow problems as well as primary and revision arthroplasty. Another focus of his is biologic treatments for arthritis and sports injuries, and he has 10 years of experience working with platelet-rich plasma. Mr Arealis gained his medical degree in 1999 and went on to complete a shoulder and elbow fellowship and a shoulder and knee sports fellowship at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. He has also undertaken research and holds a PhD from the University of Thessaloniki. He presents nationally and internationally in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery. In addition, he is involved in clinical research and has a number of published articles in peer-reviewed journals.
