Professor Tony Narula qualified from Cambridge in 1979. He trained in ENT in London and Nottingham becoming a consultant in Leicester in 1989.Tony was a consultant otorhinolaryngologist at St Marys Hospital, Paddington, Charing Cross Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital. He was also an Honorary Consultant at Chelsea & Westminster and Royal Brompton Hospitals and took early retirement in Dec 2014.Tony is one of the founders and current chairman of the Board of Governors of the Global Tracheostomy Collaborative. He has published widely on tracheostomy care and quality of life after paediatric ENT surgery.He teaches extensively both in the UK and abroad and is an Honorary Visiting Professor at Middlesex University (since 2003) where he helps run the Diploma in ENT course for general practitioners. His main clinical interests are pediatric ENT and ear/ hearing disorders. Professor Narula was elected to the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2004 where he was the Honorary Treasurer and served as President of ENT UK from 2015-2017.
