Dr. Munné was born in Barcelona, Spain, educated in Europe and graduated in 1983. Four years later, she earned her DDS from UCB, as well. She then immediately joined the staff of General Hospital of Catalunya, working in general dentistry. She was then accepted in the department of endodontics under the direction of Dr. Jaime Cuenca and completed her specialty training and certification in endodontics. Dr. Munné came to the United States, studied and worked at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, department of periodontics, and obtained her certificate in periodontics. She taught and did research as a visiting assistant professor in the department of periodontics. Dr. Munné is now licensed to practice dentistry in Europe and in Texas, where she has been a practicing periodontist in the Houston area for over 20 years. Dr. Munné's basic science research experience was in the field of bone matrix mineralization. Her ongoing investigations have been related to dental implants, gum regeneration and guided bone regeneration. She has participated in different clinical studies, including the evaluation the different types of barriers in a study on connective tissue grafts. She has presented in meetings and seminars nationally and internationally and maintains membership in numerous dental organizations. She is a member of the American Dental Association, The American Academy Of Periodontology, The Hispanic Dental Association, The American College of Dentists, The International College Of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Munné has maintained numerous leadership positions.
