Biography
Dr. Angela Johnson has been practicing in the mental health field for over 20 years. She has been a licensed clinical psychologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 2007. Dr. Johnson is available to conduct forensic evaluations for both criminal and civil matters, and can provide expert testimony on issues of competence to stand trial and criminal responsibility, mental health commitment, mandated substance abuse treatment, sexual dangerousness, sex offender classification, and aid in determination of sentencing.
Dr. Johnson also sees patients in her clinical practice for issues related to anxiety, depression, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. She uses an eclectic blend of Mindfulness, CBT, and insight oriented approaches.
Dr. Johnson also works with individuals mandated by the Courts for treatment of addiction or problematic sexual behavior/offending.
Dr. Johnson has been a guest lecturer and professor at Roger Williams University, and has conducted training workshops for various community centers. She is available to provide workshops in areas relevant to both clinical and forensic psychology. Dr. Johnson has a special interest in providing sexual education to educators, parents, and young people as a way to promote healthy sexuality and decrease interpersonal sexual violence.
