As a highly trained Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Adult & Old Age Psychiatry, II also serve as an Expert Witness in Psychiatry. Trained in all aspects of the Mental Capacity Act, I am Section 12 approved and hold strong accreditations for both aspects of my work. With experience in both community and in-patient services, I thrive on complex service development roles where improving mental health services and delivering tangible impacts on service excellence and patient outcomes are key. Working in Old Age & Adult Psychiatry and as an Expert Witness, I bring sound working knowledge of psychiatry to deliver organic, holistic assessments, care approaches and individual focused management and treatment that address both the psychological and physiological needs of patients. I believe in patient centred care that is tailored to suit the individual. With over 12 years at consultancy level, I bring strong clinical supervision skills to unify teams together to the vision of excellence and to meet the increasing demands on mental health services and expert witness testimonies. Career Highlights – I am currently re-designing and perfecting a new functional inpatient service for Older Adults in Cygnet Hospital Tauton. My team and I are in the process of applying for QNOAMHS accreditation in the next 12 months • Launching the In-reach Mental Health Services for BPSD Dementia Patients. • Designing OPMH Community Services for Jersey Health & Social Services. • Leading seminars and training on capacity assessments. • Launching the Memory Clinical across the West Flintshire area. • Implementing the Eating Disorder Service in North Wales. • Managing Day Hospital Services for the Wirral Partnership NHS Trust. • Launching the Early Intervention Service for The Brooker Hospital • Facilitating Crisis Resolution Services for the 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Trust. • Serving as a Lecturer for the Master’s Programme for Nurses in Jersey. • Teaching Medical Students at Cardiff University on Old Age Mental Health.
