Mr Andre Geel is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with 24 years experience in NHS and private practice. He is currently practising at the Central and North-West London NHS foundation trust, where he acts as Clinical Lead for the Recovery Day Programme, and he conducts a private practice at 10 Harley Street, London. As well as this, Mr Geel acts as Sector Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Brent, Harrow, Ealing and Barnet. Following his studies in South Africa, Mr Geel moved to the UK in 1989 to uptake a post in rehabilitation at St Charles Hospital, London. He later specialised in early intervention and community psychology and headed a multidisciplinary team specialising in early intervention. He then entered the field of substance misuse at St Marys Hospital, Drug Dependency Centre, London for 3 years. Prior to his current post, Mr Geel held the role of Head of Adult Clinical Psychology at Northwick Park Hospital for 8 years. Mr Geel holds a number of roles of prestige including Project Lead for Addictions for the British Psychological Society, Chair of the Substance Misuse Management in General Practice programme and advisor to the National Institute of Clinical Health Excellence (NICE) with involvement in writing the NICE guidelines on drug and alcohol disorders.
