Dr Anand Mehta FRCP is a Consultant Physician specialising in the Care of the Elderly - Geriatric Medicine. He trained in Geriatric Medicine/ Elderly Care, Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine in Liverpool and St George's Hospital in London, before his Consultant appointment in the NHS at Croydon University Hospital (formerly known as Mayday Hospital) in 1996. He is highly experienced in dealing with complex and multiple chronic medical conditions in the elderly who commonly present with Falls, Balance problems, Blackouts, Weight Loss, Confusion etc. He has a particular expertise in the management of Parkinson's Disease and runs a large well reviewed movement disorder service in Croydon. He offers assessments and investigations of patients with memory problems and confusion eg Alzheimer's Dementia. He also has an interest in Gastroenterology in the elderly and carries out upper and lower GI endoscopies. He focuses on the holistic management of the patient with an emphasis on Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and multidisciplinary approach to treatment. His private practice is based at BMI Shirley Oaks Hospital in Croydon, and New Victoria Hospital in Kingston where he offers outpatient consultations and in patient emergency and non emergency treatments.
