Mr. Anand Kelkar is a renowned Consultant Urological Surgeon with The London Clinic at 20 Devonshire Place, London. Additionally, he also has clinics at the Spire Hartswood Hospital , Brentwood and The Spire London East Hospital. He holds a joint NHS consultant post at the University College Hospital ,London and Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, Essex. His area of expertise is urological cancer surgery, in particular nerve sparing Robotic Prostatectomy for prostate cancer, performing more than 100 operations a year. Mr Kelkar has more than 30 years of experience and is one of the very few surgeons in UK skilled in all aspects of surgery- open, Laparoscopic and Robotic. He also specialises in Prostate cancer diagnosis and MRI Fusion prostate Biopsy for an accurate diagnosis of cancer . He also offers second opinion for the treatment of prostate cancer Mr Kelkar works jointly with Colorectal surgeons and Gynaecologists in complex pelvic surgery and urological reconstruction. He also manages benign urological condions like urinary infections, blood in urine, and Prostate conditions and PSA testing. He is a core member of the London Cancer Collaborative, pioneering the way for centralised cancer services for NHS England. During his medical training, he was awarded a JC Lisboa Gold Medal for achieving the highest marks in surgery. Following the completion of his medical degree, he completed his training in general surgery in 1990. He continued his studies and completed his urology training in 1993 and was awarded a Fellowship in Advanced Cancer at the world-famous Royal Marsden Hospital in 1997. He further specialised in cancer surgery at the various centres in the UK- Royal Free, The Christie, Charing cross and Hammersmith Hospitals. He trained as Laparoscopic and Robotic surgeon at The Kings College Hospita, UCLH, Hamburg and ORSI academy in Belgium. Mr Kelkar was appointed as a consultant Urologist in 2003 in East London and Essex before joining the UCLH team in 2016.
