After years in the industry, decades of mistakes to learn from, and thousands of connections to be made, I now lead sales and marketing for the coolest company in the business: Koha Health. I lead my team with candor, humor, vulnerability and gratitude. I love to cook, watch my kids play hockey and am a sucker for a silly joke. I think math is hard (thankfully my husband doesn’t) and I don’t like buzzwords. And while I didn't grow up dreaming about selling revenue cycle services, here I am doing it on the regular, loving the people I've met over the years and the deals we've put together along the way. I first worked on the payer side of the business at what was then Oxford Health Plans in CT. I got a job as a Medical Management Coordinator because one of my clients at the gym where I worked was a nurse there; I quickly realized the power of connections. Here I learned healthcare 101, that change is good, how to play liar's poker, and to put as much as possible into my 401K. From there I went to work for an RCM firm in NJ because of another connection. I learned not only about revenue cycle outsourcing and selling but also about fine wine and great food and to never wear slingbacks while running through an airport. It was also here where I was introduced to IDX Systems Corp and then spent many years selling software and forming some of the strongest, longest-lasting business relationships I have. I had - and still have - some of the most fun ever with my IDX Family. I learned firsthand what it means to have a great company culture and to never settle for anything else. At Southwind Health Partners/Advisory Board Company, I worked with health systems across the country and sat in some of the most interesting meetings of my entire career. But I also sat in music in the round in Nashville and learned to love country music. And I heard Caldwell Esselstyn, MD speak at our client event and have been mostly whole food plant based ever since. And I was taught family first. Period. Then came MediRevv where I found my leader legs, if that's even a thing. We grew a lot very quickly. It was challenging and rewarding. At times it was really hard, but it was usually really, really fun. It was here where I figured out it’s not about work/life balance, but rather it’s all just life. Now I am at Koha Health where the passion that drives this company is strong and deep. I could not be more excited to work with good people who want to do good things. It’s a special place and I am grateful to be here.
