Dr. Qayyum received her MD from Imperial College School of Medicine in London, UK. She completed a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at St. Georges Hospital, London, followed by a Body Imaging Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to joining Moffitt, Dr. Qayyum was appointed Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF where she obtained an R01 for the MRI evaluation of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and was Program Director for the UCSF Diagnostic Radiology Residency. Dr Qayyum was recruited to the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Division of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where she developed collaborated research on MRI biomarkers of early immunotherapy response in HCC with the MD Anderson Liver Cancer Center. Dr Qayyum has over 140 publications.Dr. Qayyum's clinical focus is MRI and CT. In particular, she is interested in hepatobiliary diseases and liver cancer. Her research interests include investigating imaging tools for the evaluation of the biophysical properties of cancer and its environment to identify factors important in cancer immune resistance, aggressive behavior and recurrence.
