I am an Occupational Therapist that has worked in array of clinical settings and different Trusts. I have experience in the acute setting ranging from Orthopaedics to Cardiology and general medicine covering large geographical areas in Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey, facilitating safe discharges from hospital back into the community. I have been involved with service improvement plans for better patient care, whilst taking on additional roles to promote better Dementia care and falls prevention in hospital and at home. I am now working in Rapid Response in Herefordshire organising support and equipment at home for patients who require urgent support to avoid unnecessary admission to hospital. I assess for equipment and minor/major adaptations, specialist seating and moving and handling to not only reduce the cost on care and save funding, but to give people a better quality of life by adapting their environment, which enables more freedom and independence in life. I also can assess basic medical observations should a patient be medically unwell and need urgent medical review. In May 2021 I qualified as a Soft Tissue Therapist with Oxford School of Sports Massage, which I am pursuing part time to support people with physical ailments and enhance their lifestyle choices and well being. I work in the county of Herefordshire, based at clinics in Hereford and Leominster, where improvement with movement and independence is my main goal. I have now gained qualifications in pregnancy massage, and am currently studying kinesiology taping in pregnant and postnatal clients to support their strength and reduce discomfort in their parental journey
