Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyse us or make us feel lost and vulnerable; they are supposed to help us discover who we are and contribute to our personal growth and resilience. However, we may not always know how to do this. As a counsellor with over eight years of experience, my approach is client-centred and holistic, rooted in empathy, active listening, and collaboration. I believe each person’s journey is unique, and I am here to provide a supportive, confidential, and nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns. As a person of colour, I greatly value and respect differences and have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, and I welcome all aspects of you. I adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I attend regular clinical supervision to enhance my continuous personal and professional development. How will counselling help? Counselling can lead to enhanced self-awareness, self-acceptance, and improved well-being. I view counselling as a partnership, and we’ll work together to uncover insights about your thoughts, behaviours, and patterns. While my approach is client-centred, I draw from various evidence-based therapeutic techniques that align with your preferences and needs. These might include cognitive behavioural therapy tools, mindfulness, chair work, creative therapy tools and more. Together we’ll develop practical coping strategies and tools tailored to your unique circumstances to identify and enhance your resilience. We will regularly review your progress toward your goals and adjust our approach to help create positive and lasting change in your life. How do I get started? I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation to explore what you hope to gain from counselling and how we may work together. If we decide to work together, you can choose short- or long-term counselling based on your goals and needs. Sessions would take place weekly for 50 minutes. I currently have availability for online sessions.
