Experienced in: • Carrying out clinical screening of NHS and private prescriptions, including biologics, from consultants and non-medical prescribers. • Performing final accuracy checking of the dispensed items. • Responding to queries on approvals, re-approvals and returns of medicines. • Completing incident and complaints form about unlicensed doses of prescribed medicines. • Raising queries to clarify or correct prescriptions from the various prescribers where necessary. • Liaising with Pharmacists and other colleagues within the organization to ensure effective and sustainable healthcare for patients. • Staff training and management. • Policy formulation and decision making process. • Liaison with regulatory authorities on products and premises certification and registration while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. • Manufacture of pharmaceutical products with quality control and quality assurance procedures, while maintaining good application of the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice. • Drug research and development. • Data collection for audit purposes. • Supervision of procurement, sale and distribution of medicines. • Counter prescribing for minor ailments. • Offering essential services to patients including involvement in the preparation and checking of dosette boxes for nursing homes, residential care homes and those in private accommodation. • Provision of advanced services to patients such as Medicines Use Review and New Medicine Service. • Counselling patients and answering medication information queries from them, their families and carers. • Handling of Patients' Medication Administration Records including the use of Mar soft and Bio dose. • Ensuring the delivery of prescription medicines to patients according to organisational policies. • Providing hospital outpatient dispensing service (OPD). • The use of Pharmaceutical software packages such as eDocs, Pharmacy Manager, Analyst PMR, MediPhase and Pro script.
