Mr Abbad Toma is head of the department of Otorhinolaryngology, head & neck surgery at Kingston Hospital and lead clinician for Rhinology and Facial Plastic surgery. From 2001 to 2004 he was Lead Clinician of the Ear, Nose and Throat department at St Georges Hospital. Mr Toma is also consultant to Moorfields Eye Hospital in London where he advises on joint nasal and eye conditions such as tear duct surgery and thyroid eye disease. He served as South Thames regional representative on the ENTUK Council and the Professional advisory board of the Royal College of Surgeons (2010 – 2016)He gained specialist training in Rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, USA and Switzerland. After training with eminent Facial plastic surgeons in the UK, he gained further experience in Facial plastic surgery in Switzerland and France as Fellow of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. In 1999 he received full accreditation from the Specialist Advisory Committee in Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and was awarded his Certificate of completed Surgical TrainingAs a consultant in a major teaching hospital, he is heavily involved in education at all levels. Undergraduate Medical students teaching, Junior doctor training and General practitioner educational sessions. . Mr Toma was senior lecturer and educational supervisor at St Georges university of London medical school until 2018. He has been the programme director for the Rhinology and Facial Plastic surgery fellowship at St Georges hospital since 2009 and co-director of the London endoscopic sinus surgery course. He has a special interest in new innovations in the field of endoscopic surgery and continues to conduct research in diseases of the nose and sinuses and minimal invasive surgery. His special interests in addition to general adult and paediatric ENT are Rhinology including diseases of the nose and sinuses, endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), balloon sinuplasty, minimally invasive sinus surgery.
