Tessa is a doctorally prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner passionate about delivering holistic, culturally competent evidenced-based mental health care. She encompasses the mind-body connection and focuses on treating the “whole” person from a multidimensional perspective. Empathy and creating a meaningful therapeutic relationship is at the core of her practice. As a prescriber Tessa has worked in multiple mental health settings including outpatient community mental health care for adults and child/adolescent acute inpatient care. She currently works in an acute partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient setting. She specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry as well as young adult. Practicum training included a year long rotation in a pediatric mood disorders clinic as well as experience as an outpatient provider at an adult HIV/AIDS psychiatry clinic. She is an award recipient for best evidenced based poster competition at ISPN 2020 conference in San Antonio, Texas. She has experience abroad working in the public health sector in northern India. Tessa dedicated time in public health initiatives related to HIV/AIDS prevention and health camps for children.
