Renée C. Genova, MD, is currently fulfilling the role of the Medical Director of Orthopaedic Trauma within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, located in Lakeland, FL. Dr. Genova obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from the esteemed University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 2012. Following this accomplishment, she pursued an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the renowned Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, completing the program in 2017. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Orthopaedic Traumatology at the esteemed Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2018. Dr. Genova is an esteemed member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society, the Florida Medical Association, and the AO Foundation.  Throughout her career, Dr. Genova has been recognized for her exceptional contributions to the field of orthopaedic surgery. In 2023, she was honored with the prestigious title of 2nd Place for the Best in Lakeland Orthopaedic Surgeon by Haven Magazine. Furthermore, during her residency at Johns Hopkins, she was awarded the Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society Resident AAOS Scholarship in 2013, highlighting her dedication and expertise. Additionally, her commitment to excellence was acknowledged during her time at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, where she was bestowed with the Student Surgery Medal: Excellence in Surgery Award in 2012. Dr. Genova also achieved the remarkable feat of securing the 2nd place in the Independent Learning Award at USC SOM in 2011. Furthermore, her noteworthy accomplishments were recognized with an Honorable Mention for her presentation as a poster presenter at the SCMA event in 2010.
